一、招生对象 Eligibility

有意愿到云南师范大学就读的海外优秀华裔学生 Excellent overseas students of Chinese origin who are willing to attend Yunnan Normal University.

二、招生类别及专业 Type of Enrolment and Subjects

1．本科生：华文教育、汉语国际教育、国际经济与贸易、旅游管理、金融学等，学制四年。Undergraduate: Chinese Language Education, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, International Economics and Trade, Tourism Management, Finance and so on. Undergraduate programs are of four years of schooling.

2.硕士研究生：汉语国际教育、区域经济学等，学制两年。Postgraduate: Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, Regional Economics and so on. Postgraduate programs are of two years of schooling.

三、申请条件 Qualifications of Applicants

1.申请人须为非中国籍公民，且身体健康。

The applicant shall be a non-Chinese citizen and be in good health.

2.来华攻读本科学位者，须具有高中学历，HSK4级及以上,年龄不超过25周岁。

Applicants who apply for under-graduate degree must have a high school graduation certificate, HSK Level 4 or above, no more than 25 years of age.

3.来华攻读硕士学位者，须具有学士学位，HSK5级及以上，年龄不超过35周岁。

4.没有HSK成绩或汉语零基础的申请者，必须参加预科学习,学习期限为一年。预科学习结束时需参加结业考试，成绩合格并通过HSK4级及以上考试者，可进入学历学习阶段。预科学习期间享受同等奖（助）学金资助标准。

Applicants who has no HSK results or is a beginner in Chinese language, must take at least one year in foundation study. After passing the tests and achieving HSK Level 4 or above, he or she can start the degree program. During the foundation study, the student enjoys the same standard of scholarship he or she has been awarded.

四、奖学金标准和内容 Scholarship Standards and Coverage

奖学金内容：免学费、注册费，赠送来华留学生综合保险。

说明：云南师范大学留学生本科生学费为15000元人民币/学年/人，硕士研究生学费为17000元人民币/学年/人。

China University of Geosciences (CUG) is a key national university affiliated to the Ministry of Education. CUG is one of the key universities which are authorized by the state to establish Graduate School. It is one of the first group universities listed in the national “211 Project” and the national “Double World-Class Project”. Located along the shore of East Lake and seated at the foot of Mount Nan Wang, CUG features in a world-class specialization in geosciences, incorporating a wide range of research fields into diverse categories such as Science, Engineering, Literature, Management, Economics, Law, Education and Art etc. CUG’s two national primary key disciplines, Geology and Geological Resources and Geological Engineering, are listed in the “Double First-Class Disciplines”. CUG’s 7 fields, namely, Geosciences, Engineering, Environmental Science / Ecology, Material Science, Chemistry, Computer Science and Social Science have been listed in the top 1% global institutions in ESI (Essential Science Indicators), with Geosciences among the top 1‰. 1 University Introduction

The university has a well-qualified faculty with 11 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 310 doctoral supervisors, 520 professors and 927 associate professors.Amongst them there are 16 winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 19 winners of the Excellent Young Scientist Foundation, 29 recipients of the supports from Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University sponsored by the Ministry of Education. CUG also boast a variety of renowned teaching and research teams, including 3 teams supported by the Foundation for Innovative Research Groups of NSFC, 3 Innovation Teams supported by the Ministry of Education, 6 National-level Teaching Teams, 1 winner of the National Teaching Master Award and 9 winners of the Hubei Teaching Master Award.

CUG is composed of two campuses, the Nanwangshan Campus situated near the EastLakeScenic Spot and the Future City Campus situated in the Future Technology city in Wuhan.CUG also boasts four field training centers: Zhoukoudian in Beijing, Beidaihe in Hebei Province, Zigui in Hubei Province, and Badong in Hubei Province.At present, CUG has 86 science research institutions, laboratories and research institutes, including 2 national key laboratories, 1 Chinese National Engineering Research Center, 1 State Ministry of Science and Technology Cooperation geological engineering facility and 1 Innovation Talent Training Demonstration facility. Since 2010, a number of honors and awards have been won under the name of CUG, including 2 special awards of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (co-partner) , 1 second prize of the National Natural Science Award, 3 second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress, 38 provincial- and ministerial-level science and technology awards, 1 award of the “Ten Scientific and Technological Advances in China”, 2 awards of the “Ten Major Geological Science and Technology Progress of China” and 2 awards of the “Ten Major Progress of Geological Mineral Exploration of China”. Moreover, CUG is home to 5 scientists who were recognized on the Clarivate’s list of “Highly Cited Scientists”, 9 researchers recognized on the Elsevier’s list of “Most Cited Researchers”, 61 researchers recognized as the authors of the ESI’s list of “Highly Cited Papers”. CUG is also in charge of the publishing of several high-level academic journals, including the Chinese version of the Journal of Earth Science which is indexed by the internationally reputed science and technology literature retrieval system, EI Compendex, the English version of the Journal of Earth Science which is indexed by SCIE, and the Journal of China University of Geosciences (Scocial Science Edition) which is indexed by CSSCI.

2 Program Introduction

All non-Chinese citizens with valid passports between 18-25 years old who have high school diplomas or equivalent degrees, are of good character and conduct, and are physically and mentally healthy can apply for undergraduate degrees at China University of Geosciences.

i. Applicants under age 18 must submit relevant supporting documents upon arrival on campus by September 2021.

ii. Applicants who once held Chinese nationality and then were naturalized as a foreign national or whose parents are both Chinese nationals and have both settled abroad, or one of whose parents is a Chinese national and has settled abroad, and who has acquired foreign nationality at birth shall hold valid foreign passport or certificate of nationality for no less than 4 years and have the record of having lived in a foreign country for more than 2 years in the recent 4 years (as of April 30th of the entry academic year).

3 Educational System

International undergraduates will undertake a 4-year full-time academic program with courses taught in Chinese (some courses are taught bilingually or in English). Undergraduates will only be awarded graduation certificates and bachelor's degrees upon completing the amount of credits stipulated in their teaching plans within the prescribed period of schooling, as well as completing and passing the defense of their graduate thesis.

4 Tuition and Scholarships

Chinese Government Scholarship

China University of Geosciences is designated by the Chinese Ministry of Education to enroll international students with Chinese Government Scholarship.

1. Silk Road Scholarship Program: This scholarship program is available for applicants applying for Bachelor’s degree programs from the countries along the Belt and Road. This program provides full scholarship and partial scholarship:the full scholarship includes tuition, living allowance of 2500 RMB/month, on campus accommodation and comprehensive medical insurance；the partial scholarship includes living allowance of 2500 RMB/month, on campus accommodation and comprehensive medical insurance (tuition is not included).

2. Bilateral Scholarship Programs: The Bilateral Scholarship Program includes all levels of available educational programs. It is usually recommended by the Chinese Embassies or Educational Departments in international students’ home countries. The scholarship includes full scholarship and Partial scholarship. To help excellent international students obtain scholarships recommended from Chinese embassies or from their Department of Education, CUG International Admission and Program Development Office provides Pre-Admission Letter to qualified applicants. Please contact the International Admission and Program Development Office in advance. Applicants should consult with their local Chinese embassies or foreign student dispatch department for information about application procedures and application time for the Bilateral Scholarship Program.

CUG Presidential Scholarship

Please apply directly for this program through the CUG International Admission and Program Development Office. Applicants can register and apply via the CUG international student application system (http://admission.cug.edu.cn/member/login.do).The Program for outstanding international freshman undergraduates provides a first-year scholarship.The types of scholarship are as follows：Tuition-waiver, Half tuition for free, 20% tuition for free and 10% tuition for free.

Tuition Standards

Undergraduate students:

Science or Engineering students: 22,000RMB/year（Approximately 3350 USD/year）

Liberal arts students: 18,000RMB/year（Approximately 2750 USD/year）

All charges are subject to the latest updates from the Administration for Commodity Prices. CUG will release information about changes in tuition in a timely manner.

5 Application Requirements

i. The following conditions must be met to apply for a bachelor’s degree under the Chinese government scholarship program:

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid foreign passports.

2. Applicants must abide by the rules and regulations of Chinese laws and schools, be of good character and respect Chinese social customs and habits.

3. Applicants must meet one of the following academic conditions:

· An official transcript of the applicant’s highest educational degree (original copy and Chinese or English notarized copy).

· Graduation transcripts of national/district unified high school.

· Scores of an internationally recognized standardized test (Such as the SAT/ACT/A-Level/ AP/IB, etc.).

4. Applicant is physically and mentally healthy, has no serious diseases, infectious diseases or serious physical defects. Applicant must pass the required physical medical examination.

5. Candidates who apply for programs taught in Chinese shall provide a copy of their HSK certificate (within the 2-year validity period) or other equivalent Chinese proficiency certification. The applicant’s HSK4 score must be above 200. Those whose HSK scores are below 200 must attend one-year Chinese preparatory course at a designated university and pass the final exam before entering to professional study.Non-native English speaking applicants who apply for programs taught in English are required to provide TOEFL or IELTS scores.

ii. Application for a self-funded undergraduate is enforced as follows:

1. Applicants must meet requirements 1 through 4 of i.

2. Language requirements for self-funded undergraduates can be properly reduced. Students applying for Chinese-taught programs must pass HSK 4. Those who fail the HSK 4 test must study one year of a Chinese preparatory course until able to pass the HSK 4.

6 On-line application and material delivery

Online Application

1. Applicants for the Chinese government scholarship need to register and fill out the forms on the CSC website (http://www.campuschina.org) within the prescribed time (from December 15, 2020 to March 15, 2021). After Online application, please send one set of paper application documents to the Admission and Program Development Office of the International Education College in CUG. Once the documents are submitted, the online registration information cannot be modified or re-filled. One applicant shall retain one valid registration only. No further information may be submitted after the deadline.

2. Applications for school scholarships and self-funded students should be registered on CUG’s registration website (http://admission.cug.edu.cn/member/login.do) within the prescribed period of time (from January 1 to June 1, 2021).

Please mail the material copies to the Admissions Office of the International Education College in CUG before 5 p.m. June 15, 2021 after finishing the online application.

Checklist for Application

1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (only for government-funded students), Application Form for International Students of CUG(only for university scholarship or self-funded students). Please fill out the form in English or Chinese

2.Copy of applicant’s highest level diploma or pre-graduation certificate. (The original copy and a notarized English or Chinese copy.):

· Recent high school graduates must provide pre-graduation certificates issued by their own school;

· High school graduates must provide their high school diplomas;

· Registered university students must provide both a high school diploma and a studying certificate from their university;

3.Official academic transcripts of each semester of the applicant’s highest diploma (If the original text is not in Chinese, a notarized translation should be provided)

4.Personal resume (in Chinese or English)

5.Two recommendation letters from different teachers in Chinese or English. At least one must be from the high school where the applicant obtained his or her diploma

6.A self-introduction video (in Chinese or English, 3-5minutes)

7.Copies of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form which is valid in a half year(the original copy should be kept by the applicant)

8. A copy of personal information page of the applicant’s valid passport

9.Copies of the passport and work or income certificate of the guarantor listed in The International Student Economic Guarantee (only for school scholarship or self-funded applicants)

10. HSK certificates or TOFEL/IELTS certificates. (Applicants with good language proficiency are preferred)

11.Certificate of No Criminal Record

12.Applicants under age 18 （until sep.2021）must submit GUARDIAN’S LETTER OF GUANRANTEE in China

Qualification Examination

During the application period, the International Education College and the supervisor group will check the academic information and reports of Chinese government scholarship applicants. The applicant's academic records, language proficiency, and general performance record will be important indicators of our assessment. We warmly welcome experts and partner University/School to recommend student to apply for our university.

Those who are missing required application materials will be reminded by the Admissions Office of the International Education College via e-mail. Applicants should pay close attention to e-mail to avoid any delay in communication during the application period. Any form of falsification, fraud, providing incomplete materials (including failure to notarize documents), or delayed materials will result in immediate disqualification of eligibility for the Chinese government scholarship of China University of Geosciences.

7 Admission and Notification

i.CUG adheres to the principle of admitting the best candidates. Due to limited enrollment, applicants who meet admission requirements but fail to obtain the Chinese government scholarship can be preferentially admitted if the applicants agree to be admitted as self-funded undergraduate students.

ii.Applicants with high school pre-graduation certificates or undergraduate studying certificates must submit high school diplomas to the Admissions Office of CUG on or before the registration day, otherwise the admission qualification will be revoked.

iii.Scholarship priority will be given to excellent international students recommended by overseas partner schools or by domestic strategic cooperative units.

iv.Admission results for university scholarships and self-funded students: the admission list will be published before June 30th. The Letter of Admission and the Visa ApplicationForm for Foreign Students in China (JW202form) will be sent to the applicants before July 15th. Please make sure that the correct mailing address is reserved to receive the Letter of Admission and the visa application form.

v.International students’ graduate enrollment information, the list of candidates for admission and admission information are all announced on the International Education College website (http://iec.cug.edu.cn). The CUG IEC official WeChat will also release the results, please keep following the updates of the IEC website and also the IEC official WeChat.

8 Consultation and Service

The Admissions Office of International Education College in CUG will reply to applicant’s questions in a timely manner.
